We’re also a bilingual family, and as someone mentioned to me on the train, it’s really a gift to be able to offer this to our child. I admit I didn’t do a ton of research on the benefits of multiple languages, I did it more out of net&esicys#8230;I would like my son to be able to communicate with both sides of his family. I would also like him to learn to read and write his second language, which I didn’t and regret quite a lot.We’re also experiencing some delays in speech at 16 months, but it is clear that my son understands both languages. It’s pretty amazing.
